Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet neighborhood that is located on the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. The West Island can be confusing to people unfamiliar with its meaning. It is often believed that it's an island located west of Montreal, but it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the two cities in Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel was born there and her time was not long in the city. Brugel lived in Courtice, just outside of Oshawa. At the beginning of her life, she wanted to be professional performer, however an unexpected growth spurt made it impossible. In an interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels I'm 6 feet and 1 inch." When I surpassed the size of my male companion, I stopped. The Brugel is one of the former dancers who turned to acting. Her high school teacher school encouraged her in the right direction. One of her teachers suggested she try out for a school production. The school's production was a success and she was selected to play the lead part in Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. The show was granted an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program which she completed from the program in 2000, earning a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. For the last twenty years, Brugel's work has been featured on both the small and large screen. Her work gained most fame when she was offered the role as Rita in the acclaimed television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor on the show in Season 1 and was only seen at times.
